Hurt's Favorate Radio Ad
Trying to hide the truth about his true record of voting for $2 billion dollars in tax increases,
Robert Hurt is advising his lawyers to suppress the truth before the vote in Tuesday’s
Republican Primary Election.
In a letter to radio stations, Holtzman Vogel PLLC states that:
“One of the two ads currently airing on your station contains a purported endorsement of Mr. McKelvey’s opponent, Robert Hurt, by former President Bill Clinton. While presumably intended to be satirical, this ad does not state that the voice is an impersonation of President Clinton could be a violation of Section 43 (a) of the Lanham Act concerning an individual’s right to publicity. See 15 U.S.C. 1125. As set forth in this letter, and based on the documentation included herein, your station is now on notice that the two ads at issue fail to comply with applicable legal requirements. I hereby request that you cease airing these advertisements until such time as the McKelvey campaign is able to satisfy its legal obligations.”
“Robert Hurt is running away from his high tax increase record that he simply cannot defend and is vulnerable in November to attacks from Democrat Tom Perriello,” Brian O’ Connor said.
