Jim McKelvey believes so strongly in cutting spending & leading by example that he is refusing to accept a salary or health benefits during his first term in office.
To Him overspending is a big part of the problem in Washington and he believes in across the board spending cuts. To show that he is serious about this he is going to start cutting spending with himself by turning down his salary and health benefits during his first term in office.
